As a charity the Y is centered on philanthropic goals and social well-being—serving the public interest or common good. Our mission is to build individual, family and community strength by focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Our services include youth and family healthy living and active lifestyle programs (recreation, fitness, and health education programs); after school and summer camp family support; and positive youth development programs for teens in Los Alamos and Española, which includes youth employment programs. Of the 8,100 we serve annually, nearly half are served in activities outside of membership, reported here.
We fundraise each year to ensure access to everyone. We provide scholarships so that all may belong at a typical cost of $100,000-$120,000 per year. To make a donation to The Family YMCA, you can choose between two options:
- Use our secure Online Donations process.
- Mail-in your donation. Download our Pledge Form.
